Where are you based?
We are located on The Fairway, Stockport SK2.
Can you collect and pick up my dog?
Yes! We are happy to collect your dog for their walk and drop them off afterwards. Depending on where you live, this may be by car or on foot. This is included in the cost of the walk.
Will you need a set of keys to my house?
Not if you are going to be home when we collect your dog for their walk. If you are not going to be home, you can either provide us with a key and any instructions (alarms, dogs 'place' in the house etc.) or provide access to a secure keybox and we will take it from there.
How do I know my keys are safe with you?
All keys are kept on a personalised key ring in your dogs name. No addresses are kept on the keyring and the keyrings are kept in a safe location overnight, not in the car. I am DBS certified (you will be given a copy when you join us) so you can be sure your keys will be in safe hands.
Do I need to sign a contract with you if you are walking my dog?
No. As long as we have met your dog and completed an initial assessment, we are happy to walk them. We can do one off walks, walks on a casual ad hoc basis (as long as we have met the dog beforehand) or walks as part of a regular arrangement, whichever you prefer.
Where will you walk my dog?
We walk in many locations in and around Stockport; if your dog has a favourite place or if there's somewhere you'd rather we avoided, please just let us know.
Some of our favourites include the woods, 'beach' and meadows around Woodbank Park, Poise Brook, Reddish Vale, Happy Valley, Chadkirk Country Park and Highfield Park. We try to keep our group walks to quieter places so that the dogs can enjoy their walks with their own pack.
Where are your secure, private paddock walks?
Stockport and the surrounding area has some fantastic private fields to rent by the hour. Some of our favourites are Wild Wags in High Lane, Goyt Hall Dog Paddock and The Dogs Paddocks both in Romiley.
Do I pay extra for a group walk in a private field?
No, the group walk price is the same regardless of whether it takes place in a public area or a secure, private field.
How long does a walk last?
Solo walks last for just under 1 hour and allows time for a paw clean, water, after walk snack and drop off. All walks are charged per hour or part thereof. If you'd like a shorter or longer walk, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate this.
Group walks last for just under 1 hour and allows time for organising everyone back in the car(!!), a paw clean, water and an after walk snack.
My dog barks at other dogs, can they walk with you?
Of course! We understand that dogs bark sometimes. Usually (not always) it's just out of frustration. Before your dog joins our pack, we'll talk to you about their quirks and foibles so that we can be prepared for as many eventualities as possible so that your dog's walks are enjoyable.
How many dogs do you walk at any one time?
On group walks in public areas, we only ever walk a maximum of 3 dogs at a time. This is so that we can properly supervise the dogs and give them the attention they deserve. Our private, secure field walks can accommodate up to 5 dogs.
How do I know where my dog has walked?
We track all walks via an app called Tractive and after each walk, we will share your dogs route with you including a summary of their walk and any photographs we took along the way.
Can my dog walk with you if they're not up to date with their vaccinations?
For the protection of all dogs in our care, your dog should be vaccinated prior to joining our walks. We will ask to see a copy of their immunisation record before they walk with us. This applies even if your dog is walking solo.
Can my un-neutered male walk with you?
Yes! We would usually suggest that un-neutered dogs are walked on their own though.
Can my un-spayed bitch walk with you?
Yes, but they will be walked on their own and on lead if they are in season until their season has finished.
Do you walk in all weathers?
Generally yes, although if it is very hot, where possible, we will bring walks forward or push them back to cooler parts of the day. Other than that we walk in the cold, rain, snow.....you name it. Dogs who feel the cold or wet, should dress accordingly!
How will I know if my dog is enjoying their walks?
We want all dogs who walk with us to have a fun, safe and enriching time. They should look forward to their walks and to seeing us and should be ready for a good rest when they return home. If at any time you feel your dog is not getting what they require from their walks, please do let us know and we will do our best to adapt the walk to better suit their needs.
My dog doesn't have good recall, can they walk with you?
Yes! We can walk your dog on or off lead depending on your preference. If you'd like your dog to walk off lead, we will assess their recall beforehand for their safety and your peace of mind. We normally allow a 4-6 week settling in period before they walk off lead. Even if your dog walks on lead, they can still enjoy fun and enriching walks. Where applicable, we use long lines to give them a little more freedom to explore but ensures they don't go too far.
Do you offer discounts for walking more than 1 dog from the same household?
We offer a 25% discount for second and subsequent dogs from the same household.
Do you offer dog boarding?
Although we do not currently offer dog boarding, we are able to check in on your dog at home if you are out for the day. Rates start at £10 per half hour visit. Check our services and pricing page for more details.
My dog pulls on their lead, can they walk with you?
There are many reasons why a dog might pull on the lead; perhaps they're a puppy still learning lead manners or a rescue who has never been walked before. Whatever the reason, it's important that we first understand what you are doing with your dog to help them walk nicely on a lead. Of course, we are also happy to support any loose lead training you are doing with your dog if you share their training plan with us. Depending on the other dogs we are walking at the time, we may still be able to walk your dog if they pull whilst on the lead. We just can't take on too many 'pullers' at once......after all, no-one wants their arm pulled out of its socket on every walk!
